India captain Rohit Sharma’s unbeaten 76 helped India reach the target of 111 in 18.2 overs and won the first ODI against England at the Oval on Tuesday. In the process, he has made the leap. Ken Williamson, Ricky Ponting And Viv Richards became the highest-scoring guest batsman in England. Rohit now has 1411 runs in ODIs in England with seven centuries and the same number of half-centuries. Second on the list is New Zealand captain Williamson, who scored 1393 runs.
Rohit Sharma also became the first Indian to hit 250 sixes in ODIs at Kennington Oval.
An unbeaten 114-run partnership between him and Dhawan meant that both of them have crossed the 5,000-run mark in ODIs as openers. Rohit and Dhawan have scored 5108 runs so far as the opening pair and will try to increase it as the series progresses.
The openers currently have the fourth-best partnership in the format, both just 42 runs behind West Indies’ Desmond Haynes. Gordon Greenage.

Jaspreet Bamrah And Mohammad Shami’s brilliant opening spell meant that England were bowled out for 110 runs.
