Real Madrid star Marcelo Players say goodbye in tears as they celebrate their 14th European Cup victory at the Santiago Bernabeu. Marcelo led the celebration and shed tears in front of the crowd inside the stadium. The Brazilian has been with Real Madrid since 2007 and is leaving this summer after collecting his fifth Champions League trophy.
“This is one of the best moments of my life,” Marcelo told fans. “Today is not a day of sadness, it is a day of joy because we have once again won the best competition in the world.”
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez had earlier told the team to turn their attention to winning the 15th European Cup next season.
“Real Madrid has made history once again and here is our 14th European Cup and 35th La Liga trophy,” Perez said at the regional government headquarters.
“Winning against a legendary club like Liverpool, this European Cup will be remembered as the greatest cup in the history of the Champions League.
“The legend of this club is getting bigger and bigger. We have beaten four of the best teams in Europe and always believed in the end.
“It’s been a wonderful season and one of the most beautiful and difficult times in our history. Five Champions League football fans in eight years are hard to forget around the world. Madrid is eternal. And now, let’s move on to the 15th. “
‘Not much sleep’
Perez also praised Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, who became the first coach to win four European Cups and five major European leagues this season.
“It’s a sign of what Real Madrid is all about,” Perez said.
Dressed in black suits, white shirts and black ties, Real Madrid players paraded Champions League and La Liga trophies everywhere, signing shirts, signing autographs and posing for pictures with their fans.
On top of the bus, the players were wearing Real Madrid shirts with the number 14 and ‘Champions’ written on the back.

Thousands of spectators flocked to the main square, Plaza Siebels, at the end of Gran Via, where the club traditionally celebrates its greatest achievements around the statue of the goddess Siebel.
Marcelo wrapped a Real Madrid scarf around the statue’s crown, tied the flag around his neck and kissed his cheek, before welcoming the Champions League trophy.
Marcelo wore five large gold rings on his fingers, one for each of his Champions League victories.

The players then took the bus to the Santiago Bernabeu, where they were presented to the audience one by one.
